Statistical Analysis of Boulder’s Urban Heat Island to Find Potential Correlations with Built Environment

This was a project I did for a graduate course, Project Management: GIS. While we spent the semester learning the field of project management, we were putting what we learned into practice with a semester long GIS project. I decided to use the opportunity to provide something useful for my consulting job with the Climate Initiatives department at the city of Boulder and use the data from the 2022 Urban Heat Mapping event. Below are the two result maps showing where in Boulder there was a strong correlation between tree canopy and temperature and impervious surface and temperature.
